Colour, texture and light.
Dagmara Surus works across painting and drawing, exploring the tension between structure and spontaneity. Her compositions bring together architectural forms, organic growth and expressive lines, where layered surfaces, saturated colour and dark, gestural strokes create a distinctive visual language.

Tuition, talks and collaboration
One-to-one sessions for individuals, in person and hosted by me. Acrylic painting from first brushstrokes to developing your own visual language: colour, composition, layering, and working from botanical and urban subjects. Suitable for beginners and for painters who want fresh direction.
Working with universities and students as a guest speaker and consultant: how to build a creative practice, present a portfolio and move from study into professional life as an artist or designer.
Original paintings made for a specific room, in colour, scale and mood that suit the space. Welcome from architects, interior designers and private clients.
I can preview a painting in your space before you decide, so the piece is chosen for the room rather than in isolation.

About
Dagmara Surus is a contemporary artist and designer based in Bristol, UK, known for bold colour, the botanical world and the interplay of light and shadow.
Inspired by botanical forms, textures and organic structures, her work explores atmosphere, stillness and movement through layered surfaces. Working in acrylic on canvas, she builds strong volumes in vibrant colour, letting light and shadow pull each form forward and push it back, and she keeps looking for new techniques.
She holds a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wrocław, Poland, and studied further at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan.
